Web Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

  • Progressive side wagers: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly have one of these. You typically lay a wager ($1 is the normal amount) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of $25,000. Although big jackpots like this are very tempting, they are also very hard to succeed. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this wager. Also, picture this- you wager 20 hands and put the side wager each time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker wager. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds using that $20.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has just one. This takes the overall house advantage from 2percent with a single zero wheel to a whopping five% in American. The single number bet has just a one in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you play it, the house edge can be a whopping 25%. No, that was not a typo. Because of the large amount of numbers you have to pick, it isn’t recommended to gamble on Keno to often. A few times for fun, perhaps. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will quickly discover yourself broke.
